NEDRA presents a full day of instruction in the essentials of prospect research. This training is a must for those new to research, or those who have had research added to their roles. No experience in the field is necessary to begin learning how to apply professional research methodologies. This full day of learning will cover such subjects as:

  • The Strategic Role of Advancement Research
  • Prospect Research Fundamentals
  • The Ethical Researcher
  • Advancement Research Sources and Methodology
  • Assessing Gift Capacity
  • Presenting Research

 

Faculty:


Amy Begg is the deputy director of research at Harvard University’s Office of Alumni Affairs and Development.  She is also a prospect research consultant providing services to more than thirty non-profit organizations, including schools, museums, civic and youth organizations, hospitals and religious organizations in Boston, New York and Washington, D.C.  Previously, Amy was the director of research at the YMCA of Greater New York.  Amy is a graduate of Plymouth State University where she serves as chair-elect of the alumni association board.  She is also a member of the New England Development Researchers Association board of directors.

 

Roslyn Clarke is a senior research analyst at Harvard University’s Office of Alumni Affairs and Development. She specializes in the financial industry while supporting the principal gifts team and New York fundraising region. Including service at Brown University and Hebrew Senior Life, Roslyn has nine years of experience in prospect research.

 

Morning light refreshments and lunch will be served.

 

Directions to University of New England:


From the Maine Turnpike (I-95):

Take Exit 48 (Westbrook). After the tollbooth, turn left at the traffic light onto Riverside Drive. Take Riverside Drive about one-quarter of a mile to the intersection of Brighton Avenue (Route 25), turning left onto Brighton. Take Brighton about one and three-quarter miles to the intersection of Stevens Avenue (Route 9) and turn left onto Stevens. Continue on Stevens about one mile through three traffic lights. The campus is on your left just past the traffic light at Walton Street.
