Calendar of Events

New England Development Research Association posts upcoming events in the research community as a service to its members. Our largest event is the annual NEDRA Conference held in the Spring. In addition, NEDRA provides a year-round program of workshops, forums and networking opportunities.

PAST NEDRA EVENTS

"Best Practices for Corporate and Foundation Research"
was hosted at Yale University on Wednesday June 11th, 2008, from 12:00-2:00pm in the Yale University Office of Development, 157 Church Street, New Haven, CT. Attendees shared the approaches of their respective organizations to prospecting among corporate and foundation donors, and a lunch was provided.

Data Mining Workshop

Josh Birkholz

March 8, 2007
9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
at the Peabody Essex Museum
Salem, MA
This half-day workshop led by Josh Birkholz is intended to introduce you to the essential tools of the analytics professional. Josh will discuss how analytics tools can help identify and prioritize prospects and demonstrate basic analysis techniques using SPSS. Expect to return to your organization with a head start on building an in-house analytics program.

Topics covered will include:
  • Introduction to analytics
  • Basic statistics and usage
  • Correlation and ranking
  • Building a regression model
  • Scoring and ranking

The program will be followed by a roundtable luncheon, providing participants an additional opportunity to share ideas and ask questions.
