    Red states are more generous than blue states. That’s one of the headlines out of a recent report from the Chronicle of Philanthropy. The study ranked states, counties, even zip codes by how residents give to charities and found the New England region at the bottom of the list.

    Nationwide, budget cuts have axed 627,000 public service jobs just since June 2009.... Tax dollars haven’t seemed this scarce in generations. Yet tens of billions of these scarce tax dollars are getting diverted....They’re subsidizing, directly and indirectly, the mega-million paychecks that go to the top executives at our nation’s biggest banks and corporations.

    There are some excellent ways to utilize LinkedIn for identifying, qualifying, and engaging your prospects. At the very least, consider LinkedIn a tool that can provide a first look at a prospect’s business information, whether it’s career history, education, or professional interests.  Some people also list nonprofit and for-profit boards, interests, and other achievements.

    What many people often forget, especially non-quantitative professionals, is that statistics is a science, the science of uncertainty, variability, and decision making.... Statistics and data are properly placed at the end of a decision making process, not at the beginning.
