Created in 2016, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee acts to provide information, training, and resources to educate the NEDRA community on issues related to diversity and inclusion, as well as help ensure NEDRA is a diverse, equitable, accessible, and inclusive organization.

The 2023/24 committee’s charge is to rewrite NEDRA’s mission statement and vision around diversity and inclusion.

The Diversity & Inclusion Committee is currently co-chaired by April Genung of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Steve Grimes, Jr. of The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Committee members include Daniella Arthurs of Trinity College, Lauren Casas of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Samir Chapra of Princeton University Advancement, Megan Horton of UNICEF USA, Constance Kristofik of Lifespan Health System, and Alissa Mesibov of the ACLU.

  • Meeting virtually at regular intervals with other Diversity & Inclusion Committee members for updates and strategic planning.
  • Collaborating with members of other NEDRA committees to incorporate diversity and inclusion, such as finding speakers or workshop presenters for a NEDRA programming event that focus on aspects of diversity and inclusion

On average, the time commitment is estimated to be 2 - 3 hours per month fulfilling committee member tasks mentioned.
