Think Tank: Large Shop Prospect Research and Management

Tuesday, February 13

9:30 - 11:30 AM

MIT Sloan School of Management

Given Lounge (35-520)

127 Massachusetts Ave.

Cambridge, MA 02142

DESCRIPTION:

Large prospect development shops have a lot of benefits, but they also have problems all their own. Come prepared to talk about the challenges of large shops, including dealing with bureaucracies, difficulty overcoming inertia, siloing, and other issues. Bring your problems, questions, and solutions!

FACILITATOR:

Laura Parshall is an Assistant Director of Prospect Research at MIT, leading a team of five researchers who work with front-line fundraisers in central Resource Development and in each of MIT’s five schools. She is a member of the NEDRA board and editor of the NEDRA News Blog. She has spent her entire prospect development career at MIT, and so has no real idea of life outside of a large research shop. She has a BA in International Affairs from George Washington University, and an MS in Journalism from Boston University.
