Legal Research Think Tank

Monday, January 29, 2024

2:00 PM-3:30PM EST

A brainstorming session in which we discuss resources available to development researchers who may find themselves in a position where they need to dig into legal cases pertinent to due diligence and/or purely institutional relationship considerations. Jon will open discussion with a generalized real-life example and basics on the use of the www.masscourts.org website, but the purpose of the session will be collaborative, and the goal will be to collect and share with one another a broad range of best practices and resources that might be useful for legal research regardless of where a case is being tried and the nature of the case itself.

Participants are strongly encouraged to have their cameras on to facilitate conversation during the program.

Jon Keane is an Associate Director of Development with Massachusetts General Hospital, and he is a former Assistant Director of Research with Boston University’s Development & Alumni Relations office. In a past life, Jon worked as a conflict resolution analyst with Bingham McCutchen LLP, and, in another previous existence, he wrote greasy spoon restaurant reviews as a freelancer for the Valley Advocate. Jon is a board member of Turning Point of Windham County in Brattleboro, VT. He has a BA in journalism and English from Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In his spare time, Jon enjoys practicing yoga, playing guitar and drums, and keeping a steady, balanced diet of nonfiction and fiction out from the library.
